Dr. Sathya Gandhidasan was born in the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago. Her parents are from south India and she has traveled extensively as a child. Her primary education was done in Trinidad, the USA and Saudi Arabia. She later attended boarding school and her undergraduate studies in India. Now as a physician and as a mother based in Brisbane with family, she remains passionate about general medicine and family well-being. She is Tamborine Village Medical Centre’s new telehealth GP, available five days a week and provides after-hours care to the local community. She comes with a vast array of experience and knowledge, especially in the fields of Mental Health, Obesity Management, Child Health and Family care. She is currently doing research in the field of obesity management and hopes to bring in a healthier change into people’s lives. In her spare time, she enjoys building Avengers Lego with her son, baking cakes and exploring new towns with her family. She and her husband recently adopted six new goldfish into their home. Living a fulfilling life both at home and at work remains crucial for her and she would like to see her patients excel in their health as well. She is very easy and pleasant to communicate with, and puts effort into clarifying patient’s concerns during her telehealth consults. She admires her work colleagues greatly and finds them a great source of inspiration, instantly connecting with them through their diverse backgrounds and various fields of expertise.
